What are the steps in preparing my financial plan ?

If you’ve never had a financial plan prepared for you before, don’t worry. At U.C.I.S Financial Planning we’ll explain the process and make sure you’re happy with how things are going each step of the way.

This is a brief outline of what happens in preparing your financial plan:

1. Initial meeting
All new clients are invited to a free, no obligation meeting. In this initial conversation, we’ll talk with you to gain a complete understanding of your current situation and what your personal and financial goals are over the short and long term.

We’ll also introduce ourselves to you as well, so you get to know your Planner better and understand how U.C.I.S Financial Planning can help you. Based on our initial conversation, we’ll discuss the types of strategies that are likely to be considered for your situation. We’ll also discuss our fee structure with you so that you have a complete understanding of how our services are charged.

At your initial meeting, we will ask you to complete a confidential Fact Find document (if you have not done so previously). This document helps you to provide some more detail on your current financial situation, giving us an in depth understanding of any areas there may be for improvement, so that we can develop specific strategies for you.

2. Specific or comprehensive strategy and plan preparation
We can address only specific issues (if you prefer) or we can provide a comprehensive overview of your financial situation, including detailed recommendations to put into place. If you agree to go ahead with these strategies, we’ll go ahead and put the plan into action.

3. Reviews
We’re committed to reviewing your situation regularly because we know that life changes and your financial plan needs to evolve and change with it. If you require advice on a specific issue, we can discuss this with you specifically, or we can conduct a review of your overall situation.
